Treatment Philosophy
We believe that nutrition should be:
- Individualized: We all have different health histories, food preferences, goals, access to resources (money, time, food, cooking equipment, etc.), and more. This means that plans need to be different to be effective.
- Evidence-based: We aren’t recommending diets, tests, or lifestyle changes that aren’t supported by research. We use objective data and tests to help inform decision-making throughout course of care.
- Sustainable: Your long-term health and success are our priorities. We aren’t recommending unsustainable low calorie diets, cutting out food groups, or adding long and complicated cooking to your routine. We want this to be a lifestyle change you want to continue even after your care is finished and goals are met.
- Inclusive: Our practice supports and works with bodies of all shapes and sizes. We believe that health means a lot more than just a number on the scale, and that all foods can fit into a healthy diet.
Ultimately, our goals are to educate and create behavior change. This takes time, however. To reflect this, we primarily offer subscriptions instead of individual sessions. This gives you the time to build new habits while having consistent access to professional support.
Services Offered
We offer monthly subscriptions for nutrition counseling to help facilitate long-term behavior change. Each month of the subscription, you get two virtual sessions lasting up to an hour each, two formal email check-ins, and unlimited access to online support. We also offer single sessions for those needing interpretation of labs and tests, or for those wanting an evaluation without additional sessions.
Group presentations can be scheduled for sports teams, fitness clubs and gyms, corporate groups, and health and fitness professionals. Learn more about topics we cover in our Group Presentations tab.
Lastly, we offer nutrition handout PDFs that are designed for patient education. Individuals can purchase them for themselves, and PT and fitness professionals can purchase them to give to patients. Visit our Nutrition Handouts tab to see topics available and to purchase.


Who is Precipice Performance for?
We talk a lot about athletes here, but from our perspective, everyone is an athlete. We specialize in nutrition for outdoor athletes (backpacking, hiking, trail running, climbing, skiing/snowboarding, etc.) and injured/rehabbing patients (bone stress injury, concussion, pre- and post-surgery, etc.), but we also have experience treating a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: eating disorders, women’s health, IBS, healthy aging, family nutrition, picky eating in young children, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis.
Precipice Performance is specifically for those who want their healthcare treatment to be more holistic and comprehensive. We coordinate nutrition and training, discuss lifestyle habits like sleep and stress, and work to build resiliency when it comes to body image and relationships with food. We care about your health, and that means more than just nutrition or training.
